Archie was born on 12/19/11 and became a PAWS for Reading therapy dog when he was seven months old. He is named for Archie Manning (famous football player) and Archie Majoribanks, the person who brought the first Golden Retriever to the United States. Archie was trained to be a therapy dog by his older sister, Gracie, who has been a PAWS Reading dog for 6 years. Archie loves everyone and likes to lie on his back and listen to “his” readers. He loves books about food the best!

Sorry for such a late reply. I've been "reading" at libraries all summer, but just started up my regular school schedule this fall, so I haven't checked my messages for a while.
Kids (or anyone) read to me and I love it. The kids have a furry friend who loves however they read, and I get to hear great stories, and give and receive lots of love!!

I really miss you, too,but I am so happy that you wrote to me!!! I showed Gracie the paper that you made me and told her all about your "wall of Archie." Gracie thinks you are a really great kid, just like I do!!! I loved the basket of dog goodies and toys that you and your classmates gave me. Mom let me have all the toys at once but she only lets me have a few treats in a day sigh(: Oh well, they will last longer that way:)

Thank you so much for writing a message to me!!! I am at the Brandywine Library in North Wilmington on the first and fourth Wednesdays of every month at 7pm. Sometimes, my doggie sister Gracie gets to go instead of me and then I pout – hahaha. I am also going to be at the Newark Library and the Kirkwood Library on different days during the summer. As soon as I know what the days and times are, I will send you another message. My mom has some time off in the summer (she's a teacher, too) so I can go to the library in the day time – yay – it's nice and cool.

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to you, but since my paws are too big for the keyboard, I had to ask the cat to type for me. She's always busy napping, so I had to wait a long time to tell her what to write!!!
