DESCRIPTION:Attention & Focus\nCourse Description: Emphasis of this course is to improve and build a more reliable team through mastering attention  skills and focus on the handler around distractions.  We will cover a variety of exercises and games as well as loose-lead handling skills which will provide a well-rounded and reliable performance in all areas of your required training as a pet therapy training\, AS WELL AS a well-mannered family pet. \nThis course if perfect for PAWS Puppy 1 & 2 students looking to take their training to the next level AS WELL AS current teams looking to refresh or expand their skills in this area of training as well as learning many other new exercises to aid in their training. \nThis class will prepare PAWS Puppy 1 & 2 students for the Therapy Prep Course.\n*PUPPY 1 & 2 COURSES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS COURSE \nRequirements:\n– This course is open to everyone (PAWS members and greater community).\n– Proof of current rabies and distemper vaccines must be provided prior to attending the 1st session for non-PAWS dogs. \nInstructors: Michele Shockley & Karen Powell \nCost: $160.00 (5 week course) \nYou will need to bring:\n– Treats: We recommend bringing 3 levels of treats for variety and motivation\n– Your dog’s favorite or highly motivating toys\n– Flat\, straight leash and approved collar: flat\, buckled collar; Martingale; harness \nRegister Now

DESCRIPTION:Therapy Dog Prep\nCourse Description: Want to become a PAWSome team? This class is for you! Throughout this 5-week course\, handlers will have the opportunity to review and practice the basic skills necessary for their dogs to become therapy pets. We do lots of fun exercises to help you and your pup get ready for real pet therapy work. In addition\, handlers can work toward passing PAWS’ Standards of Excellence Test (STEX)\, which is required for all PAWS Therapy teams\, and/or the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test.
